How Neurolanguage Coaching® Helps Your English

By Jennie Reed

Have you ever felt like your artistic voice is lost when speaking in English?

Imagine being an artist with a powerful vision, but struggling to express it in another language.

As a Neurolanguage Coach, I help creatives break through language barriers using brain-based learning techniques, so they can communicate their passion with confidence and authenticity.

Work With Your Brain

Being a certified Neurolanguage coach, I am often asked questions about how Neurolanguage coaching is different from traditional language teaching.

The main differences for me are that I am using neuroscience language learning principles to help my learners understand their language barriers, develop their language skills through personalised learning and reduce their anxiety through a range of coaching methods.

English for Creative Careers

Many language courses focus on conversational English, business English or passing a specific exam.  But creatives have their own unique challenges, to talk about their artwork, discuss their inspiration, and express themselves in very diverse artistic fields, such as painting, music, writing, designing, architecture and many more.

Many creative industries rely on English to network, collaborate, present ideas, apply for funding or an artist residency and to sell work internationally.  English is the global language and in order to make connections in the art world, artists need to be able to express their passion and values through the English language.

Will I Need English for My Creative Career?

Creatives may struggle with perfectionism, or the idea that they might lose an aspect of themselves in a second language.

The idea of being authentic is key for artists, however, if they are unable to express themselves clearly in English, they may lose the confidence to promote their work.

Science-Backed Language Coaching

Neurolanguage Coaching applies neuroscience-backed language learning principles, which means that we focus on the best ways brains learn languages.

We will help every individual create their own learning path focussed on their own creative needs and interests.

Then, aspects of the Neurolanguage coaching methodology are used to help artists and designers overcome their mindset blocks and increase their self-confidence.

For example,

\

We know that we learn best when we are relaxed or even enjoying the process.

\

Stress can block learning, while personal motivation enhances it.

If you have ever been told that you ‘must’ learn English for success, but do not really believe it, motivation may wane.

Neurolanguage coaching can help creatives find internal motivation, ultimately making learning more sustainable.

Every individual will create their own learning path focussed on their own creative needs and interests.

Make Language Learning Easier

Our brains love patterns.  That is why connecting new vocabulary to words you already know – whether in your mother tongue, or another language you speak – helps reinforce memory.  The more connections you make, the easier it becomes to recall and use new words naturally.

Neurolanguage coaching uses a variety of language learning tools, and looks at how each learner learns best, this could be through storytelling, music or visual arts to make the process more engaging.

For example, a musician might focus on writing song lyrics, or a film-maker might practise pitching their ideas in English.

The learners themselves are involved in deciding what activities they enjoy and understanding how they themselves learn best.

This gives learners autonomy, flexibility and the chance of self-discovery.

The Neurolanguage coach acts as a guide, to keep learners on track and as a champion, reminding them of their own goals, to encourage them when motivation drops.

What Neuroalnguage Coaching Can Do for You

The Results Speak

I can see Neurolanguage coaching help my clients in so many ways, such as Crissie, a talented artist.

When we first started working together, she doubted her ability to communicate clearly in English.

But as her confidence grew, so did her opportunities.

Since we have been working together, she applied for her dream job as a graphic designer (and got it!), and she has done a talk in English about her artwork standing in front of a room full of over 100 people.

Her transformation proves that mastering English is not just about language, it is about unlocking potential.

How Neurolanguage Coaching Helps Creatives

Neurolanguage Coaching is ideal for creatives, as it allows them to set their own learning path and goals, as well as their own timeline.

Focussing on how your brain learns best, and enjoying the language learning process are two ways to improve your outcomes.
